In November children were invited to participate in a Historical model competition where they could further learning completed in class or study an area of interest. Some of the entries included an Egyptian pyramid, a colosseum and an early model of the telephone. The winners were Sahejpreet Arora from KS1 and Esha’al Rahim from KS2.
WORLD WAR ONE PROJECT
To commemorate the centenary of the start of WW1 the whole school participated in activities across the week. KS2 held a cross curricular day where all children explored elements of Music, PE and Drama related to the war.On Wednesday 12th November we were lucky enough to have a visit from a Soldier. The children took part in a Soldiers Tale workshop where they developed an understanding of recruitment and what life in the trenches was like for soldiers during the war.
To end the week Mrs Blockley took a group of children to the war memorial on Victoria Park, Leicester where they lay a wreath of poppies in remembrance.
